CHRISTCHURCH SCOTS COLLEGE.
CONGRATULATIONS FROM D-UXEDIX. (SPECIAL TO "THE TEESS.") DUNEDIN, December 5. At the meeting of the Presbytery of Dunedin to-day the Rev. Alex. JVVhyte moved, and the Rev. "\Y. Gray-Dixon seconded the following motion: — "That the Presbytery of Dunedin congratulate the Presbytery of Christchurch upon the steps they have taken to establish in Christchurch a Presbyterian Boys' College, and congratulate the minister and congregation of St. Andrew's upon the initiation and generosity which have characterised their offer of valuable cliurch property for I the purpose of religious education. The Presbytery commends this College, the I first Presbyterian Boys' College in the I South Island, to the consideration of heads of families within the bounds of the Presbytery, and prays that the blessing of God may rest upon this new' endeavour to extend the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ." Mr Whvte said that when carrying out the direction of the Presbytery to solicit support for the establishment of the Columba Girls' College he had found an urgent demand among families of the Presbytery for the prior | establishment of a Presbyterian Boys' College. It was appropriate, therefore, that the Presbytery should rejoice in the early establishment of this College. The Rev. "W. Gray-Dixon expressed his sense of the self-sacrifice and statesmanship of the magnificent offer of the minister and people of St. Andrew's. The motion was adopted.
