FIRES.
• Mr F. Daniel's hotel at Nelson Creek "was totally destroyed by fire between 2 and 3 o'clock on Wednesday morning. One of the servant girls gave the alarm, and a great effort was made by the inmates to jmt the fire out. „ At one stage of their efforts it was believed they had the fire under control, btrfc it broke out afresh and soon gained the mastery of the primitive means of the firefighters. The hotel and furmtore were covered by insurance, the building (owned bv Mr A. Potts, of Nelson Creek) being insured for £200, and the furniture and stock for £125.
