MILITARY SERVICE BOARD.
!The first '-iuing of the Military Service Hoard in War.ganui took place on Friday. before Messrs D. ft. A. C'onpcr, S.M.. David McLaren, and W. Perry, to hear an appeal lodged by three brothers. Mr Cohen appeared for the applicants and Captain C. It. Orr Walker tor the Defence authorities. It was intimated that the eldest of the brothers had attested. The plea, in evidence. was that the sons milked 90 cows and did other farm work, therefore being food producers. It was also urged that the mother was in a delicate state of health. After a very short retirement, the Board gave judgment that in the case of one brother the, appeal would bo dismissed, and th<» third brother would be exempted for five months, provided that- during that period he continued in his present employment.
