A CHILD'S DEATH,
Fanny West, aged four years, residing at 3o Stewart street, Christchurch, fell into a Lath of boiling water yesterday, and was scalded so severely that sho died shortly after reaching the Christchurch Hospital. An inqneet will bo held to-day. As the North express was passing th© Eyre ton line junction yesterday the engine-driver, Mr W. Warley, in endeavouring to hold the "tablet" apa. steady, was caught by the spring and his hand wa?. severely lacerated. On. the arrival of the train at Rangiora he was attended by Dr. Will, who ordered his removal to the Christchurch Hospital.
