It is stated that Christchurch is not the only gronp area in the Canterbury military district to report a serious shortage in its quota for the 22nd Reinforcements, but that other group areas arc in just- a s bad a position. It has been decided that enlistment? shall now bo confined to tho two drafts in hand.

The latest progress report of recruiting in Otago indicates that there will probably be a shortage of over 200 rccruits in the 22nd Reinforcements, leaving for camp on Thursday.

Tho Auckland Group was asked to de* spatch 405 men to-morrow for the 22nd Reinforcements, but this number will not bo available, only a total of 360 of all arms having boon called up.
