Regulations under the Military Series Act aro gazetted to-night as follows : — Every voluntary recruit shall at tna time when ho takes the oath of allowance under the Expeditionary Forces Act 191' J. be attested in tho presence of an attesting officer. Every computsoiy recruit shall, before being first received into a camp of military training or forthwith thereafter, be attested in the presence of an attesting officer. Every compulsory recruit may, if ho so desires, take the oath of allegiance and bo attested in tho same manner as a voluntary recruit, instead of in "»e manner tet forth in the second schedule. Every compulsory recruit who refuses or fails when required to do so by any officer under whoso command he is, to appear before the attesting officer and thero to answer all questions submitted to him. and bo attested in accordance with these regulations, shall be guilty of disobedience to the lawful commands of the officer under whoso command ho is, and shall be Hable under the Army Act accordingly. A voluntary recruit may, on his attestation, indicate tho roinforcement draft to which ho desires to be attached, but if he is a Reservist belonging to tho First Division, no such inlication shall in any manner limit or iffect his obligation of immediate military service as a member of the Expeditionary Force, and he shall be liable, by virtue of his enlistment, to >erve at any time and in anr- Reinorcement draft in tho same manner as J be bad enlisted without- any such indication. Nevertheless, effect shall be given to anv snch so far ns Sip commandant thinks it consistent cith the public interest.
