CHRISTCHURCH ASSOCIATION'S WINTER TOURNAMENT. WON BY RAILWAY RESERVE. The winter tournament under tho auspices of the Christchurch Miniature Rifle Association was concluded on tho Chester street range on Saturday night, tho Railway Reserve winning tho championship by 19 points from the Christchurch Defence Rifle Ulub. The semi-finals had been fired during the week, resulting in the Christchurch Rifle Club beating tho Cashmere C.U.C. Unit and the Railway Reserve beating Peppler's in. a shoot-off after an exciting tie. The scores were:—

: Christchurch Defence Rifle Clnb—Wilson 70. Dockery 70, Sandford 60, Logan 69, Judkins 68, Duthle 67, Sutherland 67, Guiney 66, Reynolds 66, Caughley 66; total 678. Cashmere Unit C.D.C.—Stocks 68, Walker 67, Diack 67, Papprill 67, Booth 66, Peak 65, Edbrook' 65, Derbidge 64, Brooking 63, Hawkin 63; total 655. Railway Reserve v. ' Peppler's Club (first shoot each 668). Second shoot: —

Railway Reserve—Morgan 70) Wardlo 69, Hales 68, Hislop 67, Grcig 67, Robertson 66, lfettridge 65, Hern 65, Thomas 65, McConnell 65; total 667. Peppler's Club—T. Brown 69, AtkiDs 69, Field 68, Brown, sen., 67; Green 67, George 65, Peppier 63, Simmonds Si, Wit•on 64, Barker 63; total 661. There was a large attendance to witness the final, as a keen match was anticipated. Expectations, however, were hrfrdly realised, as the Rifle Club men were much below form, and the' Railway men, shooting very consistently, went'to the load almost from the start, 'and won rather easily. Morgan and Thomas, of the winning team, both scored possibles, Morgan attaching a grand target to an already phenomenal record. The scores were:— Railway Reserve —Morgan 70, Thomas 70, Hobbs 69, Porteous 68, McConnell 68, Hern 67, Wardle 67, Robertson 67, Bentley 67, Hislop 66; total 670. Christchurch Defence Rifle Club—Dirfhie GO, Kelson 68, Sandford 67, Wood 67, Dockery 66* Guiney 65, Caughley 65, Reynolds 65, Sutherland 64, Logan 64; total 660. At tho conclusion of the match cheers were given for the wiitnors and the losers.
