THE "WEEKLY PRESS."
Tho cablo messages gave very readable accounts of tho great enthusiasm wliich was displayed in England on the anniversary of tho memorable landing of the Empiro's troops on the Gallipoli Peninsula. Tho pictures to hand by the latest mails of tho celebration of Anzao Pay in London fully confirm the cabled statements and make one of tho attractions in tho ""Weekly Press," which will bo published tomorrow. The march of tho Anzacs through the city was like a triumphal procession, and the representatives of tho youngest of tho Dominions were cheercd by dense crowds. Subsidiary ilhistrationc show the wounded being escorted by special constables, or leaving their motor buses for the Palace. Frequent reference has been made to tho need for shells and guns, and from time to time information has been published of what' is being done in Franc® to keep pace with the enormous Verdun demand. Our contemporary has several engravings relating to this all-important work, and they include a machine-gun factory at work, tempering heavy steel shells, and inspecting them before they are despatched to help hold tho defences of Hill 304, and other sectors. Significant of the position at Verdun, as disclosed by the latest communiques, is a cartoon by Raemakers, which accurately anticipated the enemy's employment of ''Cannon fodder" in its tight for jjossession. Tho remarkable industry of providing artificial limbs for crippled heroes, increasing in valuo as the war progresses, makes ah interesting picture, and there arc many other engravings appertaining to the great conflict which the "Weekly Press" has been pictorially recording with such success that each week the demand for the paper exceeds the supply, and the public who neglect their purchases by a single day are usually doomed to disappointment.
