LADY LIVERPOOL FUND.
A meeting of tlio Lady Liverpool Fund Committee was held yesterday, Mrs Holland presiding, when it wis reported that fourteen cases of goode had been eent for the life of the- men on the troopships. The Mayoress reported that she had visited Xortli "Brighton, and a Lady Liverpool branch was in formation there under ills A. Peppier and a very strong committee, who wove most enthusiastic. It v.ms stated that there was urgent need for eocks, in fact every sock was needed, and needed badly. In the Oddfellows' Hall. Lyttelton, last night, Mr John Clcgg. of Dunoclin, who, while travelling in the steamer Indian Prince, from Rio do Janeiro to Now York, was captured by the German steamer Kron Prims Wilhclm and sent back to Rio in a collier, ga+o an interesting lccture on his experiences, the proceeds being in aid of the Lady Liverpool Fund.
