MERIVALE CLUB.
| The annual .report of the MerivaJo Football Club congratulates the club on its sound financial position, the existing liability having been paid off, and a. balance of over £4 being ehown. Owing to many of the club's active members being nwav at the front, a trying time for the ciub is predicted. Hud members (life and active) and supporters are asked to double their efforts in'aVsisiiiig it, keep the club's funds up to tne inaik. Though interest in the sport g#r:< ral'v was not up to the etandard, the clubs uams t.ml up som« good performances. The c:ab.3 Kcil of Honour contains 58 names, ».t:l the committee Tecord their deepest 6viipathv with the relatives cf E. G. Smith and G. T pttiruore, who were killed in action. The five years' lease of the club rooms expired m September last, but the committee deemed it advisable to rensw the lease for one vcar ;hc rent having be»n reduced by £10 by theifiirectors oi the Christchurch Press Company.
