The Kauri, with cargo from San Fraaciscg, is due at Ly-ttelton from Dunedin to-morrow. After putting out the local portion of her cargo she will proceed to Wellington. The departure of the Karori from Lyttelton for Auckland has been postponed until to-day. The steamer Carolyn four years ago ran on the rocks, and was abandoned by the insurance men as a "constructive total loos." A speculator bought the wreck for _ £300, and Guoceeded in floating it and making it seaworthy again. He has now, according to "Shipping Illustrated," sold the vessel for £39,400. Such ia the result of the unprecedented present demand for ocean freight earners.

A cablegram announces the departure of the American four-masted schooner Commerce for Lyttelton. The vessel is bringing a cargo of lumber, and is due at this port about May 6th. c After a voyage of fifty-three days from Wellington* the New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Century arrived at London on Monday last. Having been delayed up the coast, the T&r&wena, in order to pick up her time-table running, will omit the usual call at Lyttelton to-day, and will proceed from -Wellington direct to Dunedin. She is due here en route to Auckland, via ports, on Wednesday next.

The Moeraki, which is to Complete her overhaul at the wharf, was taken out of dock yesterday morning.
