' MINIMUM PRICES FIXED

WELLINGTON, February 11. Representatives of the Tanners' Association. Board of Agriculture, and fexporters met the Minister of Munitions to-day to discuss the effect of the recent prohibition of the' export of hides weighing 45 pounds or over. The conference resulted in a unanimous agreement that, with the exception of bulls' hides, the minimum price for all well-flayed, good-condition-ed, meat works', abattoir, or butchers' hides should.be: Cow 9d per pound, ox lOd, both subject to the. usual tare allowance. If the producer is unable to obtain these prices in New Zealand, the Minister will be prepared to consider applications for permission to export. While hides required for local purposes will be obtainable at the current market prices, the tanners will supply bootmakers, who have entered into contracts for military supplies at the price agreed upon prior to the Government's embargo.
