Francis Peter Hagen, clerk in the Public Health Department, was charged in the Magistrate's Court to-day, under the. War Regulations Act, with having published disloyal remarks. It was alleged that while the. Seventh Reinforcement*; were preparing to depart, defendant" said "there goes a .silly lot of . They will net all they are looking for." On another occasion he said: "We will be as well off under German rule as under British rule." He also said that Nurse Cavell deserved all she got; she was nothing but a spy. lie further justified the linking of the transport Marquette. Eventually, another officer of the Dcpartment protested, and defendant was suspended. The case is proceeding.
