DIAMOND HARBOUR CARNIVAL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the general committee of the Lyttolton Patriotic Carnival, to tako place next month lit Diamond Harbour, was held on Saturday evening in the municipal chambers. Mr M. J. Miller presiding. The secretary reported that tho organising work was being taken up enthusiastically, and the success of tho Carnival wag assured. The Lyttelton Marino Band had agreed to be present, and the cominitteo had a.lfio receiver several offers from minstrel trouper to perform. It was also reported that tho transport tickets would be available for salo within the next few days, and it wa* decided to write to the Commercial Travellers' Association for support at the Carnival. Mr M. J. Miller (chairman-of tho Lyttolton Harbour Board) reported that in tho ovent o.' a large traffic, one of the wharves would bo barricaded. , An offer to supply side shows was approved, and it was resolved that circulars should bo sent to Lvttolton residents asking for gifts to he sold on tho notification being given that such articles eoujd bo loft at the premises of Messrs G. C. Smith anu Co.
