DWELLING DESTROYED. | ——.. •At a quarter to three this morning , the fircbell at Sumner sounded ; a firo having broken out in a twostoreyed liouso on the Esplanade, the property of Mr J. G. Rcstall, of land, but formerly of the late MrG.? Pierey, of Christchurch. The premise*; ; wero totally destroyed. How the firo ), -r occurred is not known, as th© building was not occupied. Renovators had beea at work on it during tho day, and thing was apparently safe when they lew - , in the evening. The Fire Brigade $ eeeded in savins the adjoining: houses,one of which is occupied by Mrs Beattie,' wife of Maior Beattie, who is at w - front. :b'
