Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied the following weather report at 4 p.m. yesterday: — ..A redistribution of atmospheric pressure has taken place since last evening, anticyclonic conditions prevailing to-day, with fair weathcT generally. During "last niifht rain fell in many parts of the> country. The winds have beon variable, and moderate to strong in their force. Present indications nre for moderate to strong easterly to northerly winds, and cool and changeable weather generally. Conditions are still somewhat threatening to the westward, and cloudy and un*9ttle«L weather is likely at times in the western and southernmost districts of the South - Island, and tilao iu the northern portion of the North Island. The barometer is unsteady, but has a falling tendency.
