Myers proposes' ■*"- 7 that in the event of Saturday being ap* '. pointed as tho statutory closing di.v. ,". any occupier should bo entitled in licil , <■_ thereof to close his shop on AVednesday in any district other than the ronibirifd districts of Christchurch, and '_-3 ' Thursday in tho last-mentioned district. - j on ' giving to tho inspector notice in c, writing of his desire to do so.. Mr J. McCombs intends in coiumitt**e ' -_- to move to omit this provision, arid to substitute th© following new clause: — "The provisions of tho principal Act shall apply to premises licensed for the sale of intoxicating liquor, as if such _ premises wore a shop within Ihe meaning of. that Act. provided that no Mich premises shall bo kept open for the sale - of intoxicating liquor after six orlm-: in".the afternoon of any day." Ii carried this win havo tho effect of closing hotels at 6 p.m.
