AXNUAL MEIiTTING. The first «nmial meeting of the >"ew ! Zealand. Club was hold last night, Mr H. Holland (Mayor of Christchurcli) presiding in tho unavoidable absence of the president (Mr P. C. Froeth). In moving tlio adoption of the report and balance-shoot (a precis of •which ails aiready appeared), the chairman congratulated the Ciub on tho completion of it« iir&t year of existence, and said that it had l>eeu an -unqualified success. It had taken on. and had tilled a useful function. Many ol tiiose who were entertained by cue Club had left Clinswhurch with different impressions than they would have had but for the Club's artivitiesThe members, in turn, had benefited ■by coming in contact with, the visitors oiiiertainod. !'he motion was agreed to after a brief discussion. It wjis decided to amend the rules to provide for all ballots being decided by effective voting, oach member piesent to have a single transferable votein each ballot. for the ensuing year woe elected as follows:—President, Mr P. C. Frtsoth; vice-presidents. Messrs H. Holland ai:d A. S. Taylor: hon. secietary, Mr Lawrence Birks: hon. treasurer. Mr H. T. Tosswill; hon. auditor Mr H R. Best: committee, Messrs; G. 'A. l>awson, \Y. Goss, A. J. Hei-li-way. and il. H. Hanna.
