On Monday, at Waikuku, a most enthusiastic gathering took placo in the local hall, when a concert was held to supplement the funds of the* Maori QuS—, c_ndidat«, in connexion with tho Kaiapoi Festival in aid ot the Belgium Relief Funds. Tho entertainment consisted of items by a troupo of Maoris, _ basket social, and tho sale of a Belgian flag. The basket:-, sold brought in over £ 17, while .tho sale of tho flag realised over £30, tho total receipts for the evening being about £50. Tho success cf tho flag selling v-as due chiefly to Mr Power, of Kaia.poi, who bought the flag ro fewer than four times, becoming at la~t the owner for £5. Great praise is also duo to Mr Parsons, of Rangiora, who conducted the sale.
