THE MAORI CONTINGENT.
The Defence Department notifies that a limited number of applications are being received from commissioned officers who desire to volunteer for service with the second Maori contingent. The name.s of officers who a*Dply to local headquarters will be forwarded to Wellington for approval by the generaftfficer commanding the forces. The second Maori contingent is to be mobilised and trained as a reinforcement for th© contingent that is already abroad.
