(PRFA« ASSOCIATION* TELEGIUM.) AUCKLAND, March 28. Marjorie Evelene Dewes, aged 24. whoso mother resides at Parrieil. was killed instantly this morning. She was ascending by tho lift in Hobson's Building... the lift being in charge of Edward Renner. aged 17. On reaching the second floor Mi.s Dewes was getting out, and had one foot on the lift and tho other foot on the landing, when tho lift suddenly dropped. She was pinned with her back against the floor, and some minutes elapsed before she was released. She was then quite dead. She was a daughter of the lato Mr A. E. Dewes. DUNEDIN, March 26. John Morrison, aged 45 years, was accidentally killed at Palmerston this morning. He was riding, a bicycle alongside a moving traction-engine, which was drawing a threshing mill. The bicycle skidded and Morrison was tnnjwn under the wheels of the mill, receiving fatal injuries.
