J, "■< The Hon; John Louis Trefle was efecUed H.L.C. for Castlereagh in 1905; Hβ was born in Victoria, and educated a£*r primary school in, victoria, and oon--| eluded his eecondary education at , J Goulburn. Beared as a farmer, he J became a champion ploughman. Later ' ho became proprietor of' a country nowepaper, which he edited and conducted - until recently. Ho was president of ; the New South Wales Country Press- -£ Association, and was for five yearsj;cß-,,5 oral secretary of the New South «alee Farmers' and Settlers' Association, and-g afterwards one of its vice-prceidenta. -" Ho wrote extensively upon agriruitural V and educational matters, and tcok - a~ ? keen interest in the progress of dry- ; farming as a science. _r
