MR HENARE AND THE OPPOSITION.
(Sr-KCIAL TO "TnE PRESS.") WELLINGTON, January il
A good deal of amusement has been caused .in political circles at the manner in which Mr Tau Henare, the elected M.P. for the Northern electorate, has so far succeeded in dodging tho emissaries of the Opposition. It will be remembered that on the approach of the Opposition organiser Mr Henare fled to the backblocks. and even the cleverest Oppositionists, though hot upon his tracks, did not succeed in i! treeing" him. The other day Sir James Carroll went North, and as he got off the steamer at Whangarei, Mr Henare shook hands with him and boarded the same steamer for Auckland where he had '.'urgent business."
