ACTION OF THE GOVERNMENT
APPRECIATED
HIGH PRAISE FROM WELLKNOWN AUTHORITY.
(PRESS A3SOCIATIOX TELEGRAM.)
WELLINGTON, January 11. The Prime Minister has received a telegram from Mr William Nelson, of Nelson Bros., Ltd., Tomoana, Hawke's Bay. commending the action of the Government in meeting the insulated steamer spaco problem in tho face of the difficulties caused by the war. '"Personally," says Mr Nelson. "1 look upon it as a marvellous achievement that so many steamers could be' taken out of the New Zealand trade to enable us to carry out our -wishes in rendering assistance to the Belgian and other European Powers, and yet have co little dislocation of colonial trade as it is possible we may have, but which, up to date, we have not even felt."
