SYDNEY, January 11

The Abattoirs Board has itsued a statement regarding the price of meat. It sums ni) tho high prices as duo to the drought and tho war export. It points out that drought conditions still prevail in tho'Riverina district, and in other large tracts in the vest. It anticipates a return to normal conditions in :he autumn, \i the weather is favourable, and adds—"With a meat-ljungry world, the community must realise that in Australia one of the great sources of supply, cheap meat is a -thing of the past. '
