MEETIXG OF EXECUTIVE.

Tho Mariborough Association wrote, rcpndios: setting- up "go clow" signs on tfce Christcburch-Kaikouia road, and it wae decided that the Canterbury Association would share the expense- of eign-posting the roaa from the Conway to Kaikouia, with tfre Harlborough Association, after getting an estimate of the coat of the proposed worit. It was decided to assist, if possible, the New Brighton and Sumner Gala- Committees at their carnivals by the motorists of the Association giving "joy rides" to the public, tho fares for which would go to swell ia» fluids. Mr Soad-Gowiaf wrote, suggesting thai the £16 in the Association's War Trust Fund 1» devoted towards the purchase of * metor-ambulance for t!» troops. After sonic discussion it was decided that tho special resolution passed by the snbecri; bars to the fund prevented the alloting Oj the money for such a purpose. Mr B. Scth-Smith suggested that the Association could probably get a- good deal of money for some of the patriotic funds by talcing; members of the public to Lake Coleridge power station. The motion was passed on to the Social Committee of the Association.
Mr B. B. Ho'.dsworth, a member of the Association, wrote, complaining of tho sanitary accommodation, particularly that for women, at certain accommodation houses on the ift. Cook route, and it was decided to forward tho complaint to tho Government Tourist Department, and to the secretary of tho Licensed Victuallers' Association. The Kaiapoi Borough Council aeked for some "go slow" notices to b© erected in. the borough and alto for some- street names to be erected.
The request for the T.-aming: notices wae agreed to, and it was decided to put up direction signs to Kairaki. Waikuku, and ■ueithfield beaches.
The following new members wcTe elected: —Meesrs A. D. Patorson, S. Shuttleworth, A. E. Stark, F. \V. Anderson, L. CJarkson, and Spencer Wells.
A vote of thanks was parsed to Mr J. A. liummis for doing some sign-painting for the Association.
It waa deoded to hold the Annual Orphans' Day run to WaiJtuku Beach en February ill , U dat<! suitable. Ihc proposed gymkhana at Amboriey n« postponed, and it was decided to hold the reliability trial and eocial run to Mt. Cook on February 27th, 28th, and March Ist. Some discussion took plaoo with regard to the aeeiatnncu to bo given by the Association towards tho publication of a really reliable and up-to-date motor -map, taking in the country from Kaikoura. to Xorth Otago (Kurow), and it wae resolved -to give £100 for 600 copks of the map if it was carried out in accordance with certain suggestions of the Association.
Mr Crozier reported that the bridge at Ekamatua (between Beefton and Greyroouth) and the Lyall bridge -would bo repaired in about a fortnight or three weeke' time. At present the damage to these bridges would b« liablo to hold up cars on the West Coast, pip. llr Crosier also etated that the Hundaleo road had been greatly improved, and the road between kelson and Blenheim is in very fino order.
