Tbo official programme oi what is practically iooksd upon as tbo South Island (Champion) 'tournament has been issued. The tournament starts ut Christchurch on Monu.y, January .25th. 'the Champ.on Kinks will start on. the Monday, when .three games of 21 h-ads will be played. This will be repealed on Tuesday Tho games wi.l bo played on the sectional system, and by Tuesday night the winners cf the various sections wi.l have been found. On Wednesday and Thursday the Champion Doubles will bo pi-yed, tho same arrangements aa in th. Kinks the two previous days being carried out. On Friday and Saturday the sectional tie., semi-finals, and finals will- bo played. J-.ntrieo for both Kinks and Doubles are 10s for on.h player. specially stated in the oor.d.tic-ns that no entriis will V. accepted after the timo specified, also that entries must be accompanied by - entranco fees.
The- following rule- has been inserted in the programme, and will be strictly enforced: -
