POULTRY MARKET
Messrs J. B. Merrett and Co. had a heavy yarding of noultry on Saturday, there being 3100 birds entered. Owing to the high prk'e of feed poultry are being rushed to the market. The demand was good, and prices tor best "•rades was equal to the Lnristmas market. Table chickens os 6d to 9s 2d, smaller • chickens 4d to 3s. stores 2 S to os. Ducklings (small) 3s to 4s Od. table ducklings Cs to 8s Gd, ducks 4s to 6s, hens 3s to 4s Sd, goslings Gs to Bs, pullets 3s 6d to 10s: one lino of 100 pullets realised 10s, all at per pair. Messrs A. B. Sands and Co. had a good entry at their saleyards on Saturday. Hens wero a trifle easier, but prime table chickens -sold well un to Christmas rates. Following were the prices realised:—-Table chickens from .Is 6d to 8s 4d per pair; hens, 3s 2d to 3s lOd per pair; ducks. &> 6d to 7s 6d per pair; geese, 6s to 8s Id per pair.
