GERMAN WAYS IN FRANCE
NOBLE MURDERERS AND BANDITS. (Received Jauuary 11th. 12.5 p.m.) PARIS. January 10. The Germans mulcted Valenciennes in a fine of two million francs because some citizens were found in possession of copies of a song entitled "William's Will," and imposed a fine of a million francs because requisitioned flour was not forthcoming. The whole population, including the poorest, combined to raiso tho fines and prevent the threatened execution of th© Mayor.
According to a French official report on German atrocities in France, tho participators in the pillage at the Chateau Bayc included not tho Crown Prince, but his brother-in-law, the Duke of Brunswick.
