At the monthly.meeting of the Malvern County Council there were pre--"ent—Councillors Wright. Reid, Culleu. Warren,-'. Hawke, Johnson, ' and Judd. Councillor Knight tendered his resignation as a 'member of the Council, owing to pressure of other work. llt was decided to mfer tfie resignation ihack for reconsideration: In the meantime two months' leavo of absence'was '.granted,-, in the hope dhat,.eircumstance.* .would to again take his place' on the Council. Tenders for the right to cut cocksfoot on roads and water-races wero accepted from Messrs A. Stewart and A, Otfiin. It was resolved to call tender-, for the delivery of 2CO yards'of metal' on the South Malvern Hills road, near •Sutton's. A petition was received to form, arid metal ablind lane at Kirwee. As tbe road was not d-dicated. it was decided'not to do anything until it was pub in order for acceptance by the" Council." The caretakers reported that tho rivers were nov; Tjery. low, and that it was difficult to get a full supply of. water, io tbe lower; end of the oounty. but if .occupiers -would keep their races. .clean there should be sufficient water. It was resolved to make nil. offenders clean their-races at once. The Council derided to request Mr G. Bedford to continrt-. to jut, as its representative on the Selwyn Plantation Board.
