Grant. The appointment of Mr F. Gaby as.registrar of dogs for the whole county was approved. Reports showed the elections ol* "Waterrace Committees a* follows: —Ran-'i-tata-Orari. old committee j-e-elected : To Maana-Kakahu. A. Wilkinson (chairman). G-. T. Gale. M Vucetach. W. Walker, and A. W. Hodson: Woodbury. N. Canu'beU (chairman). .1. Vance. A. Webb, Cooiing. C. Bryant: Orari-Waihi, .1. McDonald (chairman), P. Lysaght, J, McLean. F. South. A. Irvine; Geraldine I'hit. W. Tiplady (chairman). C. MacKemw. D. Wilkmson, M.."Campbell, and R. Richards. Tho clerk "of works applied for an increase in salary, owing to the increase iv tho 00.->t of livin*.-. The matter was held over, for further consideration. The Temuka. Road Board asHxi the Council to erect motor bridges over three.of the largest water-races on the main South road between Rangitata and Orari. It was f'k-cided'to instruct the.clerk of works to report as to the cost, of bridges" in concrete or wood. The Geraldine Road Hoard sent plans and speHiication« of the promised traffic© -bridge' at Hilton, requesting tho Council to carry out the work, and stating that anph'cation had been tnado .to have the Government grant transferred to the Council. Ifc was resolved -to vote ten guineas to the fund for tho New- Year gift oi' a travelling '•ookor from Canterbury people to tho Expedition-ivy Force. The Board of A-'riculturo's circular regarding noxious w l-iTs was endorsed. It was resolved to s"e for fill outstanding rates without further notice.
