Welcome Stakes, Great Northern Guineas, and City Handicap. Air T. H. Lowry will not be ropraseiited at the Auckland Racing Club's Spring Meeting, and Desert Gold and Balboa will, in consequence, not fulfil their engagements in tho Auckland Welcome Stakes and Great Northern Guineas. The following racehorses arrived by the "Wahirie yesterday morning:—Fair Rosamond, Sea Pink, Downham, Feraniorz. Steinhei]. Ringform, Sweet Corn, Ardent, Bonny" Helen, Interlude, Postillion, Birkfi.l. Multiply, Chortle, Expect, uertnida. Amphora, Pariform, Happiness, Miraculous, Chakwana, Blue Lake. Gold Lock. Otatara, Goldfoil, and Kilrain. The death occurred on Tuesday of the well-known Southland sportsman, Mr H. Rodgers. Deceased owned several horses at various times, Jan, St. Rol-ora, and Spoybatik ocitig a trio which have carried liis colours in recent «?ars. Observer and other trotters raced in the interest of Mr Rodders, who was also a keen supporter of all kinds of ontdonr games, having represcmed Southland in both football and cricket, and gained n place as a Rugby representative for Southland at tho early age of seventeen.
