: The-Oxford CJouaty Council met last Tuesday. Present—Messrs H. Campbell (c___u_a_), A. Baxter, H. T. Cooper, A. Meyers, J. McOormack, and J"Wells. __• Cross seat an apology for absence. The chairman assured Mr Wells that tho .Council felt the deepest sympathy with him .and his family in their great bereavement in tho death of Mrs Wells. Mr Wells thanked the Council for their kindness. It was resolved to patch part of the German road, to fence the west approach to Booth's bridge on the south side, to «-rade the Domain road, and* to call for tenders for shingling the Domain road, Burnt Hill road, South Eyre, Sehofield's, Stubb's, and Rockford roads, when dry enough for carting: on. It was resolved to make application to the Christchnrch City Council for electric power; also to take action against driv- | er_ of traction engines for cutting down tho edges of footpaths, to put a bolster il Cooper's creek, and a concrete pipe culvert on Siadden's Bush road, also to agree with other counties concorned that the centre of the Ashley river be the boundary. Regarding the request of the Papai-iia' Connty Council that two dele-.ates should attend a. conferonce to discu**- the advisability of Forming a local Counties' Associiition, ''-he chairman and Mr Wells were appointed. Accounts amounting: to £324 7s l_d wero passed for payment.
