LYTTELTON WATERSIDERS.
AND THE CORONATION HALL. Taking advantage of the slackness on the waterfront yesterday morning, tho Lyttelton Wharf Labourer-' Industrial Union of Workers held a special meeting in the Coronation Hall to consider whether or not they should use it in J the future. ', The president, Mr J. Flood, occupied the chair., and there was an attendance of about 100 members. Tho motion that the Union should not uso the hall under the present conditions, which provide for the building being under the control of a board of six, three representing iho employers and three representing the Union, was defeated, _as also was an amendment that the hall should-be occupied by the watersiders under a board of control only if the representatives of the Union were appointed by that body. ■ The amendment was lost on the casting vote of ""the chairmanAfter considerable dj-cnssion, the pre—dent (Mr J. Flood) and the secretary (Mr W. Agar) ware delegated to approach the Harbour Board with a view to making other arrangements in the matter.
