KAIAPOI.

At tho last meeting of tho Kaiapoi Horticultural Society, a committee was set up to meet delegates from tho Borough Council relative to holding a feto to raiso funds for improving tho Domain, which at present is in- a very neglected state. Tho Kaiapoi School Committee mot last night. Present—Messrs Leithead (chairman), McGregor, Yellowlecs, Mallascb, Thorne, and Hoskin. The roll number at the primary school was stated to be 425, and the average attendance 363. The figuros for the secondary department were 28 and 26 respectively. The Education Board notified that Mr A. Hardcastle, of Palmerston North, had been appointed assistant master, and Mr J. L. Menzies relieving master. The Board also forwarded a notification with regard to occasional holidays. It was decided to approach the Board with a request for a now flag-pole.
