ROTHERHAM.
The bachelors of .Rothcrham held their first annual ball in tho Public Hall, on Friday evening. Tho hall was tastefully 'decorated with evergreens. Supper was laid in a marquee adjoining, the tablee being decorated with pot plants and autumn Howors. The guests were waited on by tho bachelors of the district. About fifty couples were present, and dancing was kept up till about 3 a.m. The music was supplied by Mrs Trail's Band (Leithneld). Mr Don Clark acted as M.C., and all present thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The weather was perfect, and tho success of the first gathering augurs well for similar functions in the future. Mr F. Banks, who energetically .carried out tho secretarial work, and his committee are to be heartily congratulated on the success which attended their efforts.
