The general manager of tho Union Steam Ship Company has announced, in reply tc recent representations, as to the unsatisfactory service between New Plymouth and eouthern,ports, that an alteration will bo tnanci in the timetable which will give a weekly" connexion irom tho South, via' Wellington by the Corinna and Taviuni, and a weekly direct. connexion from Wellington to' New Plymouth. Tho first direct steamer from Wellington will sail on Juno 24th.
