He took command, and rescued numbers of ■stsrug- . filing people. Ho put ten men over the ado attached to ropes, and dragged them, to safety. . Altor-loaving tho first boatload aboard the Storstad. ho returned to tho scene ot tho foundering in another boat, but waa unable to find anyone alive.
