GRAND THEATRE
Large attendances greeted the new programme at the Grand Theatro yester«<t£.* t^ g Principal picture was entitled The Lion Tamer's Daughter," a proauction of the Eclair Company, in which wild animals play a conspicuous - part. The play is well mounted., and the photography well up to the standard of the Eclair Company. Thero are ; nisny thrilling scenes, and the acting . throughout is very good. Armand Delcroix receives a visit of a fellow artist. - who invites him to a fair, where they meet Mabel, a fashionable artist's '. model. With the joy crowd they go n and see a sensational performance, a V young girl Clarice performing in an uuv tamed lioness's cage. The lioness makes vicious attack on her. Delcroix rushes into the cage and rescues Clarice. Later Delcroix paints her portrait with the inevitable result, they -'• fall in love with each other. Shortly . afterwards the annual artists' ball takes ?laco. Thero Delcroix is discovered by larico making love to Mabel. She rushes homo brokenhearted. Delcroix fights a duel and is seriously wounded. Clarice forgets her injury and nurses him. Delcroix gets better and rides with Mabel in a carriage to the despair - of Clarice, who drags lierself home to pine and die of a broken heart. Delcroix marries Mabel and years roll by. They have a lovely little girl, Viviann'e, , .the joy of their lite. Barthus, Clarice's - father, chances to come to Neuilly fair , with his lions, and comes across Delcroxx, and his dormant hatred of the man who broke his daughter's heart is revived. He plans a horrible revenge. - After lashing his lions ho lets them loose in Delcroix's house. There are wenes of'great confusion and horror to X ( velcroix and his family. There is a *• fearful race for life, Barhus waiting and listening for the fruition of his inhuman vengeance, sees a vision of his daughter imploring his mercy. He relents and enters the villa, mastering the lions just as Delcroix collapses with his daughter in his arms. Other pictures are "The Eclair Journal," with the latest world's news and ladies fashions, "The Price of Peace," a beautiful Rex drama, "The Downfall of Mr (comic), "The Beetles' Christmas" (comic), and "The Crayfish" ■ (educational).
