FE-NDALTON SCHOOL.
c ANNUAL PICNIC. On Friday last the children attending the Fendalton School, together with their friends to the number of about 300, held their picnic ou the picturesque grounds of the Cashmere Estate, which the proprietors hail kindly placed at the disposal of the committee. The day was beautifully fine, and the site an ideal one. Complete arrangements were made to have the whole of the scholars conveyed to and from the picnic ground by Tnotora, and the committee feel amply indebted t_. the large number of residents who «_ willingly and generously placed cars at their disnosaj. Cars were supplied by the following:—Messrs Bannehr, A. J. Field, T. C. Field, Rink, G. Royds, J. Royds, D. McClure, Toplise, Turnbull, Moore, Dexter and Crczier (2). Kibblewhite and Vaughan (2), W. Sheet, J. Sheot, E. J. Rces, H. Ranger, McMillan, Neate, Marker, Carter and Co., Scarr, Loasby, Thornton and others. During the day a series of races were run, the results being as follow: —

All enjoyed the outing immensely, and a start was made for home at 5.30 p.m., the long line of cars proceeding in procession right throngh the heart of the city.
