The Otago University team for the tournament to be held in Christchurch during Easter contains some very promising men, particularly among the athletes, and judging by the peiformances of that University's representatives in tho Otago and New Zealand Championships, the Easter meeting should provide' some fine athletic conteste. The following particulars of tho "cracks" of the. Otago team and their records aio supplied by a correspondent: — R. I_. Christie. —Athletic champion at Southland High School. He represented Southland at the New Zealand Championships, and is the holder of the New Zealand 'Varsity 100 yds championships. He is the most promising sprinter Otago possesses, and prospects point to him developing into a second Opie. G. Barton. —Represented Otago in the New Zealand Championships, and holds the 220 yds Otago 'Varsity championship. E. Bishop.—An athlete of grand staying power, who put up a rather remarkable performance by winning the 440 yds, E6oyds, aJid one mile championships of Otago University at the one meeting. He has an easy style, aifci should show the way at Eaeter. R. Harris.—The most promising athlete in the team. He was champion of Wellington College, holding records for high jump ana 120 yds hurdles. G. Fisher.—Otago champion over 120 hurdles and second in 120 yds and 440 yds hurdles at the New Zealand Meeting. R. L. Withers. —A fine hurdler, who won the New Zealand 'Varsity 440 yds hurdles last year, won the Otago 'Varsity long jump, nnd represented Otago in both the jumps and the hurdles. J. Roes. —A consistent and capable walker— alway* a dangerous rival. J. M. Boyne.—The shot "crack." Holder of the Otago University and. New Zealand University record for hammer, and holder of the shot championship. He is expected to break the New Zealand University record with a throw of 120 ft. N. McKeefry.—The "strong man" of the team, who is to vie with Boyne in both championships.
