JOTTINGS FOR FARMERS.

The cocksfoot harvest on the Peninsula is over now, so far as threshing is concerned. Some riddling and carting have yet to be done, but the bulk of the seed has already gone forward. Reports from all quarters confirm tho previous reports of little more than half a crop. Sales have been reported up to 4Jd nor lb on trucks. The rain on Sunday and yesterday put a check on threshing operations in tho North Canterbury district, and it will be at least a couple of days before work is resumed. In the meanwhile, sheeomen and dairy farmers are well satisfied with the improving growth of feed for flocks and herds.
