BOROUGH COUNCILS
RANGIORA.
The Rangiora Borough Council met last nignt. Present —ine A—lyor J. Sanson), and. Crs. lioyd, Ulackett, l)i_, Jennings, Lane, L. C Oruer, Sutherland, and >Vright. It was decided to support the Kaiapoi .borough Council in a request to the Government to have weather and flood reports forwarded from Bealey. On the application ot Pastor Goring permission was granted the Christchurch Baptist Mission Band to hold a meeting in Percival street on Sunday evening. It was resolved to secure space in the "Guide to Canterbury" for a description of Rangiora and the surrounding country. It was decided to grant a bonus or 21s to the lad at the gasworks for extra work performed while the stoker was laid up. A committee was appointed to revise the schedule of duties of the office staff, and the foreman of works. A request for a lamp in King street south was referred to the Lighting Committee. Tho financial statement showed receiots £3'i"4 7s ■ 2d, and expenditure £217 18s 9d, with a credit balance of £578 13s 3d. Gas account receipts were £160 ls Sd, and expenditure £408 12s Id. A vote ot thanks was accorded Mr A. S. Miller in recbgnition of his twenty-six years' services in the Rangiora Fire Brigade, on thei occasion of his retirement from active service. Mr E. 11. Good was recommended as assessor in conjunction with the Government official in con- ! nexion with the revaluation of the bor- I ough. I
