LINWOOD CLUB.

The twenty-seventh annual meeting of the Linwood Football Club was held on Thursday evening in tho club rooms, the club captain, Mr C. A. Evans, presiding over an attendance of about forty members. The annual report and balanoe-«hcct were adopted. The chairman paid, a tribute to the lons and valued servioea of the late president, Mr A. Loughrey, who had been connected with the club for over twenty years. After reviewing ths play of last season he urged that thc social s.dc of the club should not lx: overlooked. Russell, M.P. J. Meiklc, F. Drewitt, C. Tome, J. Pawaon, J. Fieaungr, S. A. Orchard and E. Smith and Captain Owles; ciub captain, Mr C A. Evans: honorary secretary, Mr A. Nome; assistant honorary secretary 'and treasurer, Mr G. Mcintosh; honorary treasurer, Mr A. J. Allard: committee, Messre W. Cummings, E. Cummings, H. Wilson, A. Barrett and E. Evans; delegates to tho Canterbury Rugby Union, Messrs C. A. Evans, A. Barrett, W. Cummings, and E. Husband; delegate to the Snorts Protection Association, Mr A. J. Allard*. honorary auditor, Mr E. J. Pegg; selectors—senior, Mr H. Mclntoah, junior, Mr H. Hutchinson. The alteration to the rules suggested by the Canterbury-Rupby Union were discussed. The proposals were takes seriatim and al! endorsed. Mr A. Barrett wajs Te-electcd to represent the club on the Training Hall Committee. Mr A. Barrett moved that the selection of teams ehould be iv the hands of a selection committee of three members which ■would act with tho captain and coach of each team. An amendment that tbe selection should be in the hands of a selector, captain and coach for each team, waa carried. It was decided to play the annual match with the Union Club at Ihmedin at Easter time.
