HILLERSDEN SHEEP SALE.

The dispersal sale of the Hillersden sheep was hold- under splendid weather conditions at the homestead yesterday, before a large attendance of buyers from all parts of the Island. Competition was spirited throughout, and the whole, of the sheep offered were cleared at prices which constituted a record for merino sheep in New Zealand. The bulk of the flock sheep were Durchased locally, mainly by new
settlors, aud some of tho stud sheep were secured by Canterbury buyers. The following prices were realised: — Two-tooth merino ewes los od, fourtooth merino ewes 25s 9d to 265, sixtooth merino ewes 28s Od, eight-tooth merino ewes «15s to 15s 3d, five-year-old merino ewes lis to 12s od, merino wether lambs 7s lOd to 9s, merino owe lambs. 12s Bd, halfbred wether lambs Us Od, cull merino wethers Ss lOd io 10s.
Stud merinos:—Two-shear owes 2i guineas to o guineas, threeshear ewes li guineas .to '4 guineris, four-shear ewes li guineas, five-shear ewes li guineas to 2 guineas, stud rams o guineas to 7 guineas, flock rams 1 k guineas to 2J guineas, ram lambs 17s 0d: flock owes, two-tooth 22s Gd. four-tooth 2Ps 6d. six-tooth 27s 3d, eight-tooth 27s 2d, five-year-old 13s Dd. English Leicester rams to 3} guineas, Lincoln ranis to 4 guineas.
