PUBLIC LIBRARY.
TO THE EDITOR OF "THE PRESS.'*' Sir, —I have recently noticed that tho Christchurch Public Libraiy has been connected with the telephone service. This is a big improvement, no doubt, and should bo a great boon to business people, as they can obtain speedy information from various sources, year books, etc. It is this that will bring our library to the fore and mako it a useful institution, ancT better known to the residents of the city, who no doubt will appreciate the improvements that are taking place. Tho publication of a new catalogue in prospect will stilt further increase the popularity of what is undeniably the finest circulating library in the Dominion. If tho Telephone Bureau is taken advantage of oy the public, I venture to suggest that the answers could be published from time to time, .like the London "Times" "Answers to Correspondents," which I possess.—Yours, etc.. 30 YEARS' SUBSCRIBER.
