BURNSIDE MARKET.
(PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) ♦DUNEDIN, March 4. At Burnside to-day, 174 fat cattle were yarded. The entry proved quite sufficient for requirements. The bulk consisted of cows, heifers and medium weight steers, for which the demand was not very keen, with tbo result that the sale was somewhat erratic. Prime quality bullocks of good weight sold well under good competition. Rest bullocks made £13 to £15, medium £11 10s to £12 10s, light £8 10s to £10 10s, best heifers £8 10s to £9 15s, medium £6 10s to £7 10s, light and inferior £5 to £6. The yarding of fat sheep showed a considerable falling off as compared with last week's supply, only 1412 being penned. Thero was a good demand for both ewes and wethers at an advance of fully ls per head on last week's rates. Best wetbers made 21s to 21s 6d, extra to 31s 6d, medium weights 21s 6d to 235, light 18s to 20s 6d. best ewes 20s to 23s 3d, medium 17s to 18s 6d, light and inferior 12s to 15s. Lambs—sSo were penned. A greater number wore of medium quality. Prime lambs sold at equal to last week's rates, but medium and inferior were rather easier. Pest mado ISs to 19s 3d, medium 16s to 17s 6d. light 13s Cd to los. Pigs—Only 37 fat pigs were-penned, and these met with a good demand, prices ruling,firm at last week's rates. On the other hand, stores wero in clow demand, and the yarding, consisting of 115. was sold at a reduction of 2s 6d to sr? per head as compared with recent values. CANTERBURY COLLEGE RESERVES.
