SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
SOUTHBRIDGE. The Roy. 11. G. Hawkins (chairman), Messrs R. B. B. Willis, E. G. Hubbard, H. Sutton, E. A. lnwood, M. Cuxran, and R. Rowe wero present at the monthly meeting* of the Southbridge District High School Committee. It was decided to grant lhe children a half-holiday on the llth inst.. tho date of the Southbridge Swimming Club's annual carnival. The Board of Administration informed the committee that the sum of £26 had been received from tho Government as subsidy on an amount of £26 raised locally by a concert held last October to* provide a school library. The chairman and secretary were appointed a sub-committee to arrange as to the selection of hooks. The headmaster reported that the weekly roll in the primary department was 101. and the average da**ly attendance 14-1.6. and in tb<» secondary department the weekly roll wa« 32 and -ie averairf* daily attendance 27.8. The siiTtrested that efforts should be made to havo classes restarted in The committee decided tn take ster>s with a view to tho formation of classes.
