Mr C. Hill, solicitor, of Chrislcinrclj, was motoring through Arnberley on Sun- - day. and in endeavouring to negotiate, a corner, collided with a litt _. girK:namod Weeks, who was cycling in an'-* opposite direction. To avoid the col-"7 lision, .Mr Hill swung the car round, ~ •with tho result that it ran into'an orna- * mental paling fence, with sufficienf for*Vi to knock the posts out of the ground and sandwich tho palings one* into another. The girl escaped with-" a severe shaking and a few bruises, but the cycle was badly damaged. Tho car was slightly dama-*|-d. ' '
On Saturday, Mrs C. B. Mason., of. Arnberley, was thrown from a gig through the horse shyine and suddenly. turning round. Tho wheel- of tho sj£ passed over Mrs Mason's leg. but'be-" yontl a seye'l. shock and -hatirip, *-...• * escaped injury.
At Scargill yesterday Mr T. A. ■__.. ' Bailey, Coroner,, held an inquest on tho body of George Lindsay Robprta, whn' was killed on Saturday by t.{. upsettin', of a dray.
