FOREIGN SERVICES TO AUSTRALIA.

The decieion of the Norddeutscher Lloyd Company to withdraw its mail ships from the Australian service synchronises with the withdrawal of those of the Messaseries Marititnes Company. From the beginning 'of August, Mcesageries steamers, aftirr leaving Colombo will ca'.l at Singapore, Batavia, Java, the New Hebrides, New Caledonia, Brisbane, and Sydney. It is expected that the preeeiit steamers will be. transferred to other routes and replaced with smaller and slower steamers engaged in the India, China and Japan services. (Received February 11th, 11.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 11. The Messageries Maritimea Co.'c new service to Australia provides a monthly eteamer, with a speed of twelve knotn, the paseenger accommodation being strictly limited. The ecmpsny is not prepared to maintain fifteen knot vessels for the present subsidy.
